The pattern for this square is not my original design but it is the version I have been using for many years. So I thought that I would share this with you. This is the perfect basic granny square pattern to learn how to make granny squares and other motifs with. Crochet a circle to square and add the head and dots later - that is really all what this pattern entails. The solid granny square is used in the square part but you can really use any of the alternatives. A solid granny is definitely a better option for the winter months when you want something warmer.
